POSITION PURPOSE 

The Mentor Intern oversees all aspects of the Whitman Mentors Program.  The interns work on a two-person team to develop the effectiveness of the program and to facilitate on-going and one-time projects with mentor matches at each school. The Mentor Interns also work on a team to support the goals of the Center for Community Service office.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES 

1. Mentor recruitment
2. Selection and training
3. Mentor/mentee matching
4. Managing the budget
5. Organizing transportation
6. Corresponding with school contacts

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Self-directed individuals
2. Good organizational schools
3. Good communication schools
4. Flexible
5. Whitman van certified
6. Able to take on additional duties as assigned.
