Laboratory Aide (Dishwasher)

POSITION PURPOSE 

Laboratory Aides work directly with the Department Technician. The Lab Aides will follow all safety procedures as outlined by the Biology Department and the College. They must be able to communicate effectively and follow directions, both written and verbal, as laid out for them.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES 

  1. Washing glassware and equipment using techniques involving decontamination procedures, multiple washes, and deionized water rinses
  2. Operating mechanical dish and pipet washers
  3. Cleaning and assembling apparatus
  4. Helping with the chemical and equipment inventories
  5. Cleaning labs
  6. Helping maintain informational bulletin boards and files
    Other duties as assigned by the Biology Technician or faculty
