Bloggers write weblog entries on The Pioneer’s website, based on a theme of their choice (e.g., gourmet cooking on a college student budget, music/movies/entertainment reviews, or experiences as a student athlete.) Bloggers are expected to contribute regular entries, generally once per week, and be in communication with their editor. Each blogger and their editor will decide on the frequency and deadlines of posts; for instance, a movie review blog may have new posts every Friday, while a different blog may have a less rigid schedule.
Prior journalism experience is not required, and the ideal candidates will have strong writing, researching and editing skills. They must have the ability to work accurately, independently and under deadline. Flexibility and creativity are a must, and applicants must be reliable and self-motivated. Blogger positions are unpaid.
In addition to completing the following application form, applicants must provide a writing sample. Please direct your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please email a word document with your responses to email@example.com. Applications accepted on a rolling basis; final deadline is midnight on Sunday, September 9, 2012.
