Service Trips Intern

The Service Trip Intern coordinates all aspects of the Service Trips Program. Duties include: leader recruitment, selection, and training, matching volunteers with trips, managing Service Trips budget, corresponding with host sites and Break Away support staff, and coordinating several large group meetings. All Community Service Interns are also required to assist the other members of the team with community service events throughout the year.

Interns will learn to: set goals at the beginning of a project and reassess them throughout the project, corrdinate details and the big picture by developing a plan and prioritizing tasks, organize, advertise, and implement programs from start to finish, evaluate programs, generate reports for future reference, and make recommendations for the future.


Participation in at least one Whitman Service Trip (SCORE or Spring Break). In addition, the position requires an enthusiastic, flexible, and self-directed individual with good organization, communication, and decision-making skills. Work study eligibility preferred but not required.
