Paul Poovathingal, PhD, popularly known as the “Padum Pathiri” or “singing priest of India,” is an Indian classical musician acclaimed as a vocalist, composer and lyricist. He is also a priest in the religious order of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, the first and only such Catholic congregation founded in India. He has composed about 1,000 songs, released 35 albums, and performed for the president of India. His music is celebrated across the globe, and he has performed for audiences in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
