109 Language and Composition in English for Speakers of Other Languages

This course offers close analysis of English-language texts selected from a variety of periods and styles. Students will have rich opportunities to develop their skills in writing, principally through frequent brief essays responding to the materials we will read and through specific modes of analysis we will pursue. This course is directed especially to students for whom English is a second language but is open to all first- and second-year students.
