Women's Tennis Completes 3 Match Weekend Sweep with Victory at PLU
TACOMA, Wash. -- The Whitman Women's tennis team completed a three match sweep that occurred over 36 hours and started in Spokane and ended in Tacoma, when they cruised to an 8 -1 win at Pacific Lutheran Sunday afternoon. The Missionaries (7-1, 6-0 in NWC) remained focused after a gutty win earlier in the day, 5 - 4, at Puget Sound. The Whits are now a solid two matches in first place as they entered the afternoon with a one match edge over the Lutes, who are now 4-2 in conference.
Whitman took all 6 singles matches and encountered its only bump in the road at No. 2 doubles where they lost in a marathon 9-7 match.
The Missionaries are on the road again, this Saturday when they visit George Fox at 10 am before playing Pacific at 4 pm.
