Women's Basketball Opens Weekend Homestand with Linfield Tomorrow Night
Walla Walla, WA – The Missionaries return home after playing four straight games on the road over a two-week span, opening up a weekend double-header tomorrow night against Linfield and facing Willamette on the back-end Saturday. Both games will tip at 6 pm at Sherwood Athletic Center.

Whitman looks to snap a two-game losing streak after getting off to a 4 – 0 start in conference. The Whitties are currently 4 – 2 in the NWC and one game behind second place George Fox (5 – 1). Linfield enters the game 0 – 5 in conference and 1 – 10 on the year.
Despite some tough shooting nights in their last two games, the Missionaries still lead the conference in field goal percentage (43.8 %) and junior forward Sarah Anderegg (Redmond, WA) is still tops in the NWC in shooting percentage also ( 57.3 %) with teammate Heather Lovelace (Jr, Mckinleyville, CA) ranked third (50.6 %).
Whitman remains the top rebounding team in the NWC (45.5 rpg) and No.1 in rebound margin (+13.4)
Linfield touts the third leading rebounder in the NWC --Katelyn Henson who averages 9.3.
Whitman has won the last 8 meetings between the two schools, dating back to the 2008 – 09 season, including a 62 – 52 decision at home and a 65 – 38 victory in McMinnville.
The Missionaries’ opponent on Saturday, Willamette, enters the weekend 0 – 5 in conference and 0 – 14 overall. Whitman has won all 8 games between the teams the last four seasons. Last year, Whitman was victorious 66 – 49 at Salem and 75 – 61 at home.
