Eisenhardt Named to D3 Hoops All-Region First Team

March 13, 2013

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Whitman forward Ben Eisenhardt has been named to the D3 Hoops.com All-West Region First Team, making him the second straight Missionary to receive the honor – David Michaels was selected to the All-Region team last year after his stellar senior season for Whitman.

"I am very proud and happy for Ben", said head coach Eric Bridgeland. "His efforts on the floor, though impressive and worthy of accolades, pale in comparison to his leadership behind the scenes."

It is the second major postseason honor for Eisenhardt, a junior from Bainbridge Island, Washington who was chosen the Northwest Conference Player of the Year after averaging 16.4 points per game on 54.9 % shooting and grabbing 6 boards per contest.

Eisenhardt was a major component of the Missionaries 19-8 season that saw them finish 2nd in the NWC and host a first round conference tournament game – a 90 – 78 victory over George Fox.

“Big Ben” eclipsed the 20-point mark 9 times during the season, tallying a career-high 29 points on two occasions, against Simpson College and George Fox. In a key late season victory at home against Lewis & Clark, Eisenhardt scored 21 of his game-high 25 in the 2nd half as the Missionaries roared back from a 19-point deficit to beat the Pioneers.

In his two years as a starter at Whitman, the Missionaries have accumulated a 37-16 record and have appeared in the postseason both seasons.
