Walla Walla, WA – Missionary forward Ben Eisenhardt has been named the Northwest Conference Student Athlete of the Week for his performances in wins over Simpson College and Walla Walla University. Over the two-game stretch, the 6-10 forward from Bainbridge Island, WA averaged 20.5 points and 9 rebounds.
Eisenhardt scored a career-high 29 points in a hard-fought victory over Simpson College, including a key spurt in the 2nd half in which “Big Ben” rattled off 8 points in a minute-and-a-half that widened the Missionaries lead from 4 points to 13. Eisenhardt also hauled down a game-high 11 rebounds and took several charges that nullified Simpson fast-break opportunities. Two days earlier, he scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds against WWU.
As the Missionaries prepare to resume conference play on January 4th at Lewis & Clark, Eisenhardt ranks third in the NWC in scoring at 16.9 points per game, fourth in rebounding at 7.3, and fifth in field goal percentage at 53 %.
Big Ben’s 29-point outburst against Simpson eclipsed his earlier season highs of 23 (vs. UC Santa Cruz), 22 (vs. St. Thomas) and 21 (vs. UC Riverside).
