Scheduled Events: Residence Life/Campus Organizations

Dates: October 5, 1999

Instructor: H. Honegger

Description:

The Residence Life and Campus Organizations modules encompass important aspects of campus life that have an impact throughout Colleague. The Residence Life module optimizes your institution’s housing assignments by using the housing preference listing and the roommate matching process, by having a direct interface with your facilities definitions to ensure appropriate room assignments, and by charging appropriately for room, board, and other miscellaneous fees based on billing and refund tables. You are also provided with residency reports and assignment work sheets. The Campus Organizations module provides you with a centralized source of information on organizations, their members and advisors. It includes the ability to record: the definition of your organizations and group them by type; positions or roles held by members of the organizations; and the effective dates of membership and roles. You also can automatically assign membership to organizations for select populations of students and report on membership.

Purpose:

This class provides key decision makers and administrators with the knowledge to begin the implementation of the Residence Life and Campus Organizations module. The class focuses on the information required for module setup; a high level overview of required and optional data management; and a review of reporting capabilities. In addition, the class highlights this module’s relationship to other Colleague modules as well as a module file structure overview. Course objectives are achieved through lecture, discussions, hands-on exercises, and case studies.
