OLD BUSINESS

Ashton has the website ready to go, he's just waiting on the password and he knows who to contact to get it.

Lucas has Book-It under control, it is just a matter of settling the cost.

NEW BUSINESS

Doug Honeg? is involved with a serious of videos on the implications of civil liberties in WA. Within the next month we will be receiving a copy and will decide then if we want to sponsor a viewing or show them at our meetings.

We are considering sponsoring a talk by attorney and alumunus Neil Stracklin on April 29. We want to get her to focus on first ammendment rights and censorship as they apply to college students.

Aprill 11 is the Activist Fair. Sam Lucas and Brad will be sitting at the table.

Last week Sam, Brad and I met with the Dean of Students Chuck Celavland concerning privacy issues of Whitman students. We were all relieved to hear that there have been no inquiries about Whitman students involvement and or ties to terrorist groups and the like. Cleavland referred the student handbook as it outlines the college's policy on such issues. His policy is to protect the student's rights as much as he can. He said he wants to improve student's privacy by guaranteeing that all requests for student information are required to go through the Dean of Students. This change should appear in next year's handbook. Look for an article in the Pio highlighting the key points of the meeting.

See you all next Monday @ 8:30 in room 240 of Reid.
