Bio:
Marie Clifford is assistant professor of art history. She received
both her B.F.A. and M.A. from the University of Alberta (Canada) and her
Ph.D. in art history from University of California, Los Angeles (1999).
She teaches courses on American art, gender and representation, the Arts
of the Americas(Canada, U.S., Latin America), Modern Art, as well as the
Introductory Survey and, occasionally, the Freshmen Core. Her current
research focuses on early 20th century visual culture and issues of gender
surrounding the marketing and collecting of modern art in the U.S.
