Tau Kappa Epsilon

Welcome to the official website of Alpha Theta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon. We are located at Whitman College in in the southeast corner of Washington. We hope that this page serves as a useful resource for prospective, current and alumni members of TKE, as well as parents and any other interested party.

Whitman College is a small liberal arts college that has frequently been in the top 25 in its category in college rankings. It was ranked the most wired school in the country by Yahoo. At Whitman, 1300 undergraduates study in over 30 fields. To find out more about Whitman, see the homepage.

Tau Kappa Epsilon is the largest fraternity in the world, with almost 300 active chapters. At Whitman, TKE has over 50 active members. From varsity athletes and captains to singers and actors, climbers and kayakers to hippies and hoopaholics, biochemistry majors to Whitman's only Fine Arts major, Whitman TKE represents diversity and excellence in many things. TKE intramural teams routinely win coveted blue shirts, including TKE1 football team, which has nearly monopolized the upper division for over a decade. Whitman TKE puts on the two largest philanthropy events, the American Red Cross Blood Drive (twice), and a community Thanksgiving dinner for over 200 people.

Spring semester was a difficult one for the TKE house and the Whitman community. TKE senior Sam Harriman was severly injured in an automobile accident in Mexico over spring break and still recovering from brain trauma. Sigma Chi member Bill Conley, who graduated at the end of fall semester, suffered a severe back injury skiing in January. Tragically, another senior Rina Imperial was killed in an automobile accident in her home state over spring break. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sam and his parents as well as Rina's family. We wish both Sam and Bill quick and complete recoveries.
