Salsa @ Whitman

The Whitman College Salsa Club is a place for Whitman students to learn and enjoy salsa. The club creates a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere while striving to provide high quality, rigorous salsa instruction to students. Latin dance has a unique quality of bringing people together and allowing people to connect in a more open, deep way than in every day life. Don't be surprised if you get hooked! We hope you'll join us. All levels welcome.

The Whitman Salsa Club Offers:

Classes: We teach free six-week beginner classes. These classes will prepare you with skills to allow you to dance salsa in any club around the world. Classes will be capped and balanced to ensure the best experience for dancers, so sign-up early to ensure a spot.

Socials: The club hosts frequent salsa socials, open to Whitman students and the Walla Walla community. We will often feature live Latin bands. Come out, practice your skills, bring your friends and dance all night! It's a great, low-commitment way of trying out the club. All levels welcome.

Special Workshops: At least once per semester, the club offers a series of special Latin dance workshops. Past workshops have included Cha-Cha, Cumbia, Merengue, and Bachata.

Salsa Field Trips: We will provide all the information you need to know about where to dance in Walla Walla, the Tri-cities, and Seattle, and will provide opportunities to go out dancing as a club. We will also provide opportunities to attend salsa congresses across the country together as a club.
