GlobeMed at Whitman, a chapter of the national non-profit GlobeMed, strives to educate and engage the Whitman community in issues of global public health through discussions, events, films, and a close collaborative relationship with Burma Humanitarian Mission (BHM). BHM supports community-based backpack medics who administer village healthcare services in Burma, grass-roots education that empowers the youth of Burma, and projects that promote cross-cultural collaboration with refugees from Burma living in the U.S. By fostering an intimate partnership between Whitman students and BHM, GlobeMed at Whitman aims to instill Whitman students with a sense of personal investment and efficacy in the broad fight for global health equity.
