Sacred Celebrations, guest curated for Sheehan gallery by Rod Slemmons, includes over one hundred images of Mexico’s sacred festivals and celebrations. Dore Gardner’s black and white photographs are an exploration of the Fidencio cult in Northern Sonora. Francisco Mata Rosas’ black and white works are of the urban outdoor festivals in Mexico City. Dana Salvo has created a fascinating record of home altars from throughout Mexico. And Geoff Winningham’s color photographs are of rural fiestas and celebrations from throughout the country.
