Rhetoric
Spaces in Hunter Conservatory The Hunter Conservatory is the home of the outstanding Rhetoric
Studies department. Students can study in the spacious three story foyer;
take a seminar class in Hunter 205, enjoy public speaking in Hunter 107, and
have access to the latest technology. Hunter has outstanding facilities for our
course of study.
The Foyer is a dramatic,
three story inspiration that is lit by artistic skylights at the top.
Hunter 107 is home to the Public
Speaking, Argument in the Law and Politics, and other rhetoric courses. It
has a laptop and high tech projector. Student presentations are recorded for
improvement with the latest technology.
Hunter 205, with full projector and
multimedia support, is where our Junior Seminar, the Rhetoric Criticism
course takes place. It is a great space for discussion and learning.
Kimball Auditorium, Hunter 212, a
beautiful, two story showcase, is sometimes used for public debates.
Hunter 105 and 106 take on a variety of
classes and are used frequently by the debate and public speaking courses as
practice rooms.
The Hunter Mail Room features an advanced
photocopier and scanner, printer, fax machine, and more excellent resources.
The Hunter Lounge has a nice eating table
as well as microwave, sink, fridge, and coffee makers. Jim Hanson, Professor of Forensics and
Department Chair, Patrick Belanger, Visiting Assistant Professor, and Matt
deTar, Visiting Assistant Professor, have offices on the third floor. Bob
Withycombe, Rhetoric Professor, has an office in the Maxey building. |
