Thursday 4 to 9pm
Friday 7:30am to 9pm
Saturday 7:30am to 5:30pm.
Hi
I'm
very glad to have you on board for this year's tournament.
Your
primary job is to help Jim.
Jim
is going to be frazzled at points, crazy busy, exhausted, whiney,
etc. at various points during the tournament. Your job is to help him get
things done.
Your
primary duties are going to be putting up the postings and giving people
directions after they get their postings, laying out ballots, and getting food
and running errands for Jim.
In
your job, you may interact with the high school kids, coaches, and judges. It
is important that you be nice, helpful, and supportive to them. Your exchanges with these folks is the number one impression they
get of the college and specifically of our debate program.
These
folks tend to be kind of "spaced out" in their own tournament world
but they're also smart and almost always cooperative and helpful.
YOU
SHOULD BE IN THE HUNTER FOYER AT 4pm on Thursday.
When
you come to the ballroom, come up to me and tell me your name and job and I'll
get you going.
Note
that the tournament, particularly the beginning, tends to be crazy busy,
especially for me.
So,
I may be a bit delayed/distracted but just be nicely
persistent and I'll be glad to get you started.
