--Wednesday afternoon for a 2 hour period to TALK
WITH JIM and to shop
--Thursday 3-5:30 p.m. (setup snacks, items for
coaches)
--Friday 6:30am-1pm plus
4:15-7:30pm
--Saturday
6:30am-2pm.
Before you begin, a few important points to remember:
1. You have a very important job. People have paid money for their food and
they expect it and they expect it on time.
2. Picking up food and setting it up takes much, much
longer than you think. For example, to
go to the store and setup the food for breakfast--you need 1 hour and 15
minutes minimum. So--follow the times
listed below and schedule enough time.
3. Please wash your hands and wear gloves when coming
into direct contact with food.
On WEDNESDAY

Coffee Pots from Jim.

______ Get money
from Jim for small purchases. Most of the time, you will just tell the cashier
at Albertsons to charge items to the Whitman debate account; sign for it; and
bring the receipt to Jim right away.
SHOP WEDNESDAY OR EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON—GET THE SUPPLIES FOR THE FOOD

coffee and water must be ready by 4:00 p.m. for road weary coaches!

PUT ONE OF
THE TARPS UNDER THE AREA WHERE THE COFFEE/HOT WATER ARE (SO THE LIQUID DOES NOT
SPILL ONTO THE FLOOR)
·
GET A VEGGIE/FRUIT PLATE, SOME GOOD CHEESE, AND NICE CRACKERS.
·
GET THE FRUIT
AND BAGELS AND BREAD JIM ORDERED—IT WILL BE A LOT
·
IN REID 110: Set
up the food, tea bags, cocoa, cups, cheese/crackers, veggies, some pop, and
napkins FOR COACHES
·
IN REID
BALLROOM: PUT OUT 25 BAGS OF CHIPS, PRETZELS, CHEETOS along
with some of the fruits FOR STUDENTS.
·
BRING THE WED.
PURCHASES YOU LEFT IN HUNTER 305 TO REID BALLROOM AND PLACE inside Reid
ballroom NEAR THE BACKDOOR where the food is located
·
Report any
problems with the pop or coffee machines to Jim as soon as possible.
·
Put smoking pails 100 feet from the doors of Olin, Maxey,
and Reid.
ON FRIDAY MORNING and ON SATURDAY MORNING—START BY 6:30 AM—GO TO
ALBERTSONS ON ISAACS, EAST SIDE OF TOWN
·
______ Pick up
the doughnuts—IT WILL BE MANY DOZENS
·
______ 8 large bins
of cream cheese on Friday; 6 large bins on Saturday
·
WHEN YOU BUY THE FOOD, TELL THEM TO BILL IT TO
WHITMAN DEBATE; ALSO PRINT YOUR NAME ON THE RECEIPT--DON’T JUST CURSIVELY WRITE

Set up the food, tea bags, cups, napkins, etc.
Spread things out as much as possible
Put drinks in a separate location
Open all packages so people can quickly get the items they want
Make sure four lines can run through the tables of food!
Confirm with Jim you have set things up properly

IN REID 110: PROVIDE
SOME OF THE STUFF FOR THE COACHES (doughnuts, bagels, fruit, coffee, hot water)

For the High
School Tournament, put the items in Reid Young Ballroom.
EVERY 15 MINUTES—GO AROUND REID AND HELP BUS TABLES,
NICELY ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO BUS THEIR OWN TABLES, HELP THROW AWAY TRASH, ETC.

about 9:45am (Friday) 10:45am (Saturday); return to

THOSE FOR DINNER.
GET THIS LUNCH FOOD SETUP WITH THE WHITMAN TEAM FOOD
HELPERS.
UNTIL 12:45PM FRI/1:45PM SAT, KEEP THE AREA CLEAN AND
make sure food is easily accessed.
AT 12:45PM FRI; 1:45PM SAT, BEGIN SHUTTING THE FOOD
DOWN.
THROW AWAY STUFF THAT SHOULD NOT BE SITTING OUT such
as meat, cheese, lettuce, mayo, etc. OR TAKE FOR YOURSELF.
For food items that won’t go bad, leave them at the
end of the tables for other people or in the corner by the ballroom back door
to the reid parking lot.
YOU ARE DONE AT 1PM ON FRIDAY BUT RETURN AT 4PM FOR
DINNER DUTIES

FRIDAY DINNER—DO THIS AFTER 4:15PM; HAVE IT READY BY 5PM
Look for the Big Cheese people bringing the
pizza.
