The college added 3 new professors to the faculty

In the Music Department, Meredith Rugg
Mitchell was added to the faculty as Assistant Instructor in Music.

In the division of Arts and Humanities, Marlene Gresko Rambaldi, was added to the
Theatre Department.

In the division of physical education, John Dale Wilcox
was made Assistant Professor of Physical Education.

Department Description: Courses treat public speaking as a liberal art,
proposing that such speaking is not a skill learned by rule but an exercise of
judgment that can be no better than the speaker's understanding of the nature
of the communicative acts.

A. Professor Arlington announced a new approach toward the Dovell-Gose oratory contest and said this new approach was
the reason why the contest was not held in the prior year. Students were now
required to present orations on a theme. The year's theme was "Orwell's
1984." It was held October 14, at 7:30pm.
