ARRIVAL DAYS/TIMES FOR LD AND POLICY DEBATE (2-3 WEEK SESSIONS)

--We recommend arriving Sunday, July 20 between 11:00am and 5:00pm.

--You can arrive Sat. July 19 or Sun. July 20 (we have check-in from 11:00am to 11:00pm).

--Camp starts with dinner at 6:15pm on Sunday, July 20.

--If you arrive by car a day early, there is a $30 extra fee unless you are a work-scholar.

 

--*Work-scholarship recipients should arrive by 2pm on Saturday, July 19.

--We recommend arriving Friday, August 1 between 11:00am and 5:00pm.

--You can arrive Thursday, July 31 (we have check-in from 11:00am to 11:00pm).

--Camp starts with dinner at 6:15pm on Friday, August 1.

--If you arrive by car a day early, there is a $30 extra fee unless you are a work-scholar.

·       Go to the Foyer of the Hunter Building for check-in (this red brick, square building is on the corner of Boyer and Park avenues; walk in the doors and you will see the large, 3 story foyer).

Southeast Washington is home to the Snake and Columbia Rivers, the Blue Mountains, internationally recognized wineries, historic sites, and a downtown recognized by Sunset magazine as one of the best in the West. DEPARTURE DAYS/TIMES

--2 WEEK CAMPERS: You leave Friday Aug 1 at any time before 5pm. You can leave earlier but you’ll miss camp activities. If you stay after August 1, you will need to participate in the camp and pay tuition and housing fees. NOTE: NO FOOD IS PROVIDED FOR 2 WEEK CAMPERS ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 1.

--1 AND 3 WEEK CAMPERS: You leave Friday August 8 at any time before 5pm. You can leave earlier but you will miss camp activities. You cannot stay after 5pm, Friday, August 8. NOTE: NO FOOD IS PROVIDED ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 8.

DIRECTIONS: Go to the Lyman or Douglas Residence Hall at Whitman College, directions above.

 

GETTING PLANE TICKETS TO AND FROM WALLA WALLA

We provide transportation to and from the Walla Walla airport (free) with a Whitman van safety certified driver on the following days and times.

ARRIVING WALLA WALLA SHUTTLES

·       2 AND 3 WEEK POLICY AND LD DEBATERS: We will pick you up on any arriving Walla Walla flight Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20. We encourage you to arrive before 5pm on Sunday July 20. The first dinner begins at 6:15pm and instruction begins shortly after that.

 

·       1 WEEK PUBLIC FORUM DEBATERS: We will pick you up on any arriving Walla Walla flight Thursday and Friday, July 31 or August 1. We encourage you to arrive before 5pm on Friday August 3. The first dinner begins at 6pm and instruction begins shortly after that.

 

DEPARTING WALLA WALLA SHUTTLES

·       2 WEEK STUDENTS: Take any departing flight on Friday, August 1.

·       3 WEEK AND PUBLIC FORUM STUDENTS: Take any departing flight on Friday, August 8.

·       Should you need it, we will also take you to any departing Walla Walla flight on Saturday or Sunday, July 26 or 27 and August 2 or 3.

·       We will pick you up and take you to the Walla Walla airport free of charge.

·       $100 discount if you live 500 or more miles away and you do the three week camp.

·       The Walla Walla airport is about 10 minutes from Whitman. It is a new, very small airport (one gate).

We provide transportation to and from the Pasco bus station or airport for $20 each way with a Whitman van safety certified driver on the following days and times. Sorry, the Amtrak schedule does not work with our shuttle.

TWO AND THREE WEEK STUDENTS

·       We will pickup as early as 11am until as late as MIDNIGHT on Saturday, July 19.

·       We will pickup as early as 11am TO AS LATE as 5PM on Sunday, July 20.

 

ONE WEEK STUDENTS

·       We will pickup as early as 5pm until as late as MIDNIGHT on Thursday, July 31.

·       We will pickup as early as 11am TO AS LATE AS 5PM on Friday, August 1.

·       Note: You may have to wait at the airport or bus station for our Pasco shuttle—we make two to three runs on each of the days noted above. We’ll keep in contact with you on this. The airport and bus station are new, small and safe.

When you arrive to Whitman on the shuttle, you will be able to check-in, regardless of the time.

TWO WEEK STUDENTS

·       We have shuttles for all flights leaving on Friday, August 1.

 

THREE WEEK and Public Forum STUDENTS

·       We have shuttles for all flights leaving on Friday, August 8.

 

·       Note: Your shuttle to the Pasco airport may get you there very early for your flight and you may have to wait at the airport or bus station—we make two to three runs on each of the days noted above. We’ll keep in contact with you on this. The airport and bus station are new, small and safe.

 

·       $100 discount if you live 500 or more miles away and you do the three week camp.

·       The Pasco airport and bus station are about 50 minutes from Whitman. Both are newly remodeled facilities and are small—you will not get lost and our driver will find you easily (there is one pickup area at the airport, ditto at the bus station).

 

Note: Need transportation to and from Pasco on a different date or time from our shuttles? You have two options.

1. The Grapeline Shuttle which runs three times a day http://www.grapeline.us/schedule.htm (not available to students 15 and under without a permission slip—contact them for this).

2. A taxi which will cost $100 to $120 one way.
