Medical Emergencies

Don’t hesitate to get a kid to the hospital

1) If it there is ANY CHANCE it is truly serious, CONTACT 911 IMMEDIATELY. In Whitman buildings, remember that you may need to dial 7 or 9 before dialing 911.

2) Get the student’s medical form unless it is a life threatening/harming emergency. OBVIOUSLY, if it is an EMERGENCY, then get the kid to care and focus on the medical form second.

The Life Director (Rob Olsen), The Head Printer (Jake), The Policy Person (Andrew), The Head LD Person (Nicholas), and Jim will have medical forms for each student.

You should get the form for this student before you go to the hospital unless it is an emergency.

The form is necessary for the student to receive medical care unless it is an emergency.

Bring the form with you to the hospital/urgent care center.

3) Go to the Urgent Care Center or St. Mary’s hospital.

THE URGENT CARE CENTER is in Walla Walla off of 5th Avenue. Take Alder Street toward downtown/Jack in the Box. Make a left on 5th Avenue. You will see the Urgent Care Center on the right two blocks down on 5th avenue (right past St. Mary’s).

USE THE URGENT CENTER UNLESS 1) IT IS A VERY SERIOUS EMERGENCY OR 2) THE URGENT CARE CENTER IS CLOSED. URGENT CARE HOURS: Monday-Thursday: 8 am to 7 pm; Friday: 8 am to 6 pm; Saturday and Sunday: 8 am to 4 pm

ST. MARY’S HOSPITAL is in Walla Walla at Alder and 5th.

Take Alder Street going west into downtown.

Turn left on 5th street.

Take 5th for about one block and the hospital will be on the right.

4) Inform Jim as soon as possible.
