HEAD POLICY PERSON

1. KEEP TO SCHEDULE

Assure that the camp schedule is adhered to and for making any needed adjustments to the schedule after getting approval from Jim.

2. MEDICAL FORMS

Jim will email you a copy of the medical insurance forms.

KEEP THEM PRIVATE. You may show them only to medical personnel, the student involved, and other staff members that are directly needed for the treatment of the student.

If you need to take a student to the hospital, go to a computer lab and print out the specific student’s form and then take the student to the hospital.

For more rapid response situations--get Rob/Head Life Person.

If it is an emergency or Rob/Head Life Person is not available, take the student to the hospital and call Jim on his cell phone.

3. CHECK ROOMS

TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN AND THERE IS NO DEROGATORY GRAFFITI AT 10:30PM EACH NIGHT. You are fined $10 per complaint; $30 if it is a serious complaint.

4. FILES OKAY TO USE OR NOT?

Handle issues concerning whether a file can be used in the tournament. The basic guidelines for making this decision: 1) Has the position been printed for the camp; 2) Are there printed responses to it? The Head Policy Printer also makes these decisions so some coordination may be necessary.

5. LAST DAY.

Tell kids to grab their stuff and to pick up their lab rooms.

6. GENERALLY

Handle various issues that crop up so that the camp’s smooth operation is ensured. In the event that Jim requests you to engage in extra work—please help him out. If your extra work involves more than 10 hours beyond the hours of a regular Aff-Neg Lab Leader, Jim will compensate you.

7. DO AS JIM ASKS This includes work that may interrupt a lab you are teaching or lecture you are giving. Sometimes, that is just needed.
