1. HANDLE RESEARCH AND LECTURE ASSIGNMENTS.
Handle the assignment
of topics to the LD staff. THIS ASSIGNMENT PROCESS SHOULD OCCUR WITHIN ONE WEEK
OF WHEN I ANNOUNCE THE TOPICS TO YOU AND SHOULD BE E-MAILED TO ALL LD STAFF
PLUS JIM.
2. REVIEW RESEARCH ASSIGNMENTS.
Review research
assignments to make sure they make relevant, good arguments. You should review
and return with concrete, clear suggestions for improvements within 3 days
after someone sends the file to you.
3. KEEP TO SCHEDULE
Assure that the camp
schedule is adhered to and for making any needed adjustments to the schedule
after getting approval from Jim.
4. MEDICAL FORMS
Jim will email you a copy
of the medical insurance forms.
KEEP THEM PRIVATE. You may
show them only to medical personnel, the student involved, and other staff
members that are directly needed for the treatment of the student.
If you need to take a
student to the hospital, go to a computer lab and print out the specific
student’s form and then take the student to the hospital.
For more rapid response
situations--get Rob/Head Life Person.
If it is an emergency or
Rob/Head Life Person is not available, take the student to the hospital and
call Jim on his cell phone.
5. CHECK ROOMS
TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN
AND THERE IS NO DEROGATORY GRAFFITI AT 10:30PM EACH NIGHT. You are fined $10
per complaint; $30 if it is a serious complaint.
6. LAST DAY. Tell kids to grab their stuff and to pick up their lab rooms.
7. GENERALLY
Handle various issues that
crop up so that the camp’s smooth operation is ensured. In the event that Jim
requests you to engage in extra work—please help him out. If your extra work
involves more than 30 hours beyond the hours of a regular LD Lab Leader, Jim
will compensate you.
8. DO AS JIM ASKS This includes work that may interrupt a lab
you are teaching or lecture you are giving. Sometimes, that is just needed.
