The Whitman camp is affordably priced while providing all of the amenities of the finest summer educational experience.

WNDI PROVIDES VALUE THAT OTHER CAMPS DO NOT: 3 meals a day; Semi-private or Apartment style rooms; Fan for each person; Mini-fridge in Lyman rooms; Large fridge in Douglas apartments; T-shirt; ALL evidence produced while you are at the camp (no paying extra); private showers; Camp picnics; Bumper stickers; All instruction; Free Shuttle from the Walla Walla airport; and Service and responsiveness that will genuinely impress you.

STUDENT FEES

·        3 week Policy or LD camp: $2100 ($1200 tuition; $300 room; $450 3 meals a day food; $150 non-refundable deposit)

·        2 week Policy or LD Camp: $1600 ($1025 tuition; $200 room; $300 food; $150 non-refundable deposit)

·        1 week Public Forum camp: $1000 ($600 tuition; $100 room; $150 3 meals a day food; $150 non-refundable deposit)

·        $100 travel discount for students who live 500 or more miles away AND who attend the three week camp.

·        $25 (1 week) $50 (2 week) $100 (3 week) discount per student for any school with four or more participants.

Student Prices reflect a cash/check discount of $35 (2 weeks) $55 (3 weeks). Credit cards and purchase orders do not receive this discount.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT WORKS LIKE THIS FOR STUDENTS:

1) You register online. (there is a link on the WNDI Main Page and below)

2) After you complete the online registration—you pay the deposit fee (via mail or online).

3) The remainder is due on the first day of the camp.

Student tuition cost includes
1. All instruction: Lectures, Labs, Drills, Debates, etc.
2. T-Shirt, Bumper Sticker, Camp Picnics.
3A. Policy Debaters Evidence: All camp files produced while you are at the camp emailed to you plus the printing of your policy affirmative and camp negative evidence you select that is completed during the time you are at camp
3B
. LD Debaters Evidence: Printing of all of our affirmative and negative cases and files you select plus an e-mailed file with all LD files for the 2008 to 2009 year (the file will include materials on 20 topics).
3C. Public Forum Materials: A huge casebook filled with argument ideas plus evidence for constructing cases.
If you wish to, you may purchase additional evidence distributed when you are not at the camp; it will be offered at a discounted price to you as a camper.

Student room fee includes a double occupancy, supervised, residence hall room. Two fans are included in each room (plus mini-fridge in Lyman or large fridge for the apartment in Douglas). Lyman rooms are divided in two, providing privacy; Douglas rooms are setup apartment style for comfort. Both Douglas and Lyman rooms include desks, cabinets, and dressers. Linens are available at an extra fee. There is a bathroom for about each six rooms; showers are private.

Student food fee includes breakfast, lunch and dinner meal service. Bon Apetit does a very nice job with vegan, vegetarian, and regular meat entrees. Entrees, soft drinks, milk, coffee, salad bar, and desserts are all-you-can eat.

COACH FEES

1 week camp coach fee: $700 ($300 tuition; $200 room fee; $200 3 meals a day food fee)

2 week camp coach fee: $1000 ($400 tuition; $300 room fee; $300 3 meals a day food fee)

3 week camp coach fee: $1400 ($500 tuition; $450 room fee; $450 3 meals a day food fee)

You receive $50 per week if you choose to judge half of the LD debates.

You receive $100 off for each student from your school attending up to $300. With 3 attending students, you can attend for 3 days free.

Coaches pay the full amount on the first day of the camp; no deposit required.

We recommend attending the first week, July 20-July 27, for Policy and LD coaches; the third week, August 1-8, for Public Forum coaches. You can pick any days you want but note that our shuttles to the airports occur only on certain days.

 

--State your type of debate interest: Policy, LD, Public Forum, or two of them or or all of them?

 

--State your learning interests: Topic lectures, Watching debates, Theory, Getting tips for running your program, Engaging in debates, other?

 

--What experience do you have debating and/or coaching? (beginner and experienced coaches are welcomed and supported at our camp!)

 

--Do you want printed copies of the evidence while you are at the camp?

 

--Do you need a pillow ($10)? Blanket-sheets ($20)? Towel ($10)
