Awards
Student awards are hung in the lobby near the entrance. Names dating back 40 years to the present can be found on these plaques. Students receive awards at the end of the year for best actor/actress, best supporting, excellence in musical theatre, most outstanding freshman or sophomore actress, outstanding service to theatre in a technical field, stage management, outstanding work for a specific production, and various scholarships.
Student Employment
There are many places to work at hjt. Students can find paid employment in the scene shop, the costume shop, and working lights.
Mailboxes
All declared theatre majors and student workers in the theatre have a mailbox. Here they can receive fliers, important theatre information, and leave messages for each other. The mailboxes are located in the hallway outside the classroom, so they are easy to check regularly.
Callboard
At the callboard students can find cast lists, current rehearsal schedules, theatre-related postings, and often times pictures from shows and theatre trips.
The Coke Machine
When students actually have a minute to rest, you can often find them hanging out here by the coke machine.
The Smoking Bench
Alternatively, when it's time for a break and students want to go outside, they'll congregate out here by the student entrance to the building. This is also a frequent place to find students having a casual conversation with any of the professors.
