La Casa Hispana
412 Boyer St. Walla Walla, WA 99362
Established in 1977, La Casa Hispana (The Spanish House) has five bedrooms and comfortably houses an average of 7 residents and one Resident Assistant. In addition to the student speakers, a native speaker also resides in La Casa. This student is a resident of a Spanish-speaking country, either in Latin America or Spain, and spends the full academic year working through the Spanish department to promote and assist students in the learning of Spanish.
This house focuses on promoting the Spanish language and Spanish or Hispanic culture. For example, some traditional events that have taken place here include romantic poetry night, screening of Spanish-language movies, and potlucks featuring Spanish foods.
La Casa is affiliated with the Spanish department and is assigned an adviser from that department. At least once in the semester, the house adviser is invited over for dinner to discuss the programs that La Casa’s residents are planning for the semester.
Residents of La Casa are responsible for completing weekly chores, having active involvement within the house and the Interest House Community, and promoting La-Casa-sponsored events and activities.
If you are interested in eating dinner at La Casa, or have any questions about house activities, you may do so my contacting the RA.
