Office of Sponsored Programs
The Office of Sponsored Programs assists faculty with budget preparation, electronic grant submission, administrative requirements, and post-award grants administration/stewardship. Our main focus for grant preparation/submission is on federal grants, but we can also help with budget issues for private grants.
This Web page contains useful information that can help you navigate the federal grant application process (e.g., NSF, NEH). For example, many grants require you to include OPE (other payroll expense) and/or indirect costs as part of your budget. Whitman’s current rates can be found here.
The Office of Sponsored Programs works closely with the Office of Foundation and Corporate Relations to make the grant application process as simple as possible. Please make sure to contact both offices as you begin to plan your grant application. Both offices are happy to assist in any way we can with the development and submission of your proposal. Whitman has administrative requirements in place to assure that we produce the most competitive grant applications possible. Please see the Office of Foundation and Corporate Relations Web page for procedures on how to apply for a grant.
