IES: London University College London (UCL)

Through the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES), Whitman students may enroll directly at University College London (UCL).  Located in the Bloomsberg area of London, University College London (UCL) enrolls more than 23,000 students representing more than 140 countries. One of the top ranked universities worldwide and boasting more than 21 Nobel Prize winners from the UCL community. 

Fields of study:

A wide range of academic disciplines with particular strengths in archaeology, English, economics, geography, history, and philosophy

Eligibility:

Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above (3.5 GPA for English Literature, Economics, Math and Politics majors.

Fall, Spring, Academic Year

September-December; January-June

Credits:

Students enroll in 4 courses (16 credits) per semester

Credit Conversion:

1 IES credit = 1 Whitman credit

Self-catered accommodations in student houses

Meals:

Students may prepare their own meals in house kitchens or purchase meals at various food outlets on the main UCL campus.

Deadline:

Placement in UCL housing is competitive and applying early is strongly recommended.
