Are you thinking about studying off-campus during Spring 2015 semester? Want to hear about Whitman's Partner Program list of 80+ programs? If so, please join Susan Holme, Director, and Barbara Hoffman, Assistant Director, for one of the upcoming Off-Campus Studies First Step Meetings. We will cover the following topics: Program options, Transferability of credit, OCS Fees, How to apply, and Scholarships (Note: Whitman need-based aid and merit scholarships apply to all Partner Programs!). All second-year students who wish to study off campus next year should attend one First Step Meeting. Attendance is a prerequisite for a study abroad advising appointment. First Step Meetings last approximately 45 minutes.

All first-year and transfer students who think they may wish to study off-campus in a foreign country or in the U.S. during their Whitman career should attend this important meeting. We will be showing lots of images of the places where you can study off-campus for credit as part of your Whitman academic program. Topics covered in the meeting include: Off-campus study options by major, How to plan for off-campus studies, Eligibility for admission to study abroad programs, Foreign language and other course prerequisites, Costs and Financial aid.

Pre-departure Study Abroad Orientation for Fall 2014 participants

Whitman College requires all study abroad/OCS participants to attend a mandatory Predeparture Orientation the semester before going abroad. During the orientation we discuss health and safety, academics abroad, financial aid, cultural differences, travel tips, and other important information. There will also be an opportunity at the orientation for students to speak with other students who previously studied on their program about what to expect while overseas.
