Coach Michelle Ferenz makes Whitman College history

Michelle Ferenz, Head Women's Basketball coach, just made history this weekend by becoming the winningest women's basketball coach in Whitman College History. Friday night's victory against Corban University gave Coach Ferenz her 179th win. On Saturday, the team earned Ferenz her 180th win against Eastern Oregon University at the Kim Evanger Rainey Memorial tournament.

Whitman’s Women's Basketball team remains undefeated at 8-0, and is currently the 5th ranked team in the nation.

A Shameless Plug for Movement that Matters!

It’s time again to sign up now for the Movement that Matters classes. Our ninth session will start on January 13th and run through the 25th of April. What started out as a humble offering of 4 classes per week has now grown into a selection of 10 classes every week, each offering the opportunity to be well and seek solace for the mind, the body or the soul.

Especially exciting during this session is “Wise Exercise,” a class taught by yours truly and aimed at advancement amongst participants who may be honoring a sore spot or a physical challenge. This class boasts stretch, strength and balances in its repertoire, and will not disappoint! The class is 45 minutes, and will be taught in the inspirational space of the Baker Ferguson Fitness Center Skybox. Come dressed in clothes to move (no jeans) and layers that can be pared down! Light hand weights will be available, as will chairs which can be used as props for either standing or sitting. Can you say fun in the sun? Mondays at 12:10pm!

As this is the last edition of The Fountain for this year, I wish you all winter blessings with family and friends, and the best of all things health and wellness in the coming year!

Om Shanti,
Michele
