Julia Ireland article on Heidegger to be republished in Swedish journal Subaltern
Julia Ireland, assistant professor of philosophy, reports that an article she wrote on Heidegger, titled “Heidegger, Hölderlin, and Eccentric Translation,” will itself be translated into Swedish and republished in the Swedish journal Subaltern. The article will be included in the journal’s April 2013 issue, the theme of which is “Hermeneutics and Translation.” The journal solicits work by invitation only and regularly features contributions from major European intellectuals, including Giorgio Agamben and Hans Magnus Enzensberger. Ireland’s article will appear with Hölderlin’s “Letter to Böhlendorff”; other content will include original pieces by Franz Rosenzweig and Ortega y Gasset, and an article by the Swedish Heidegger scholar Marcia Sá Cavalcante Schuback.
ALSO – Ireland is the co-translator along with William McNeill of Martin Heidegger’s “Hölderlin’s Hymns ‘Germania’ and ‘The Rhine,’” which will be published in 2013 by Indiana University Press.
