The Future of American Politics - Civility vs. Gridlock

The purpose of this event is to discuss the role of government from various political perspectives, how we can return to an environment of civil discourse in American politics and how to address political apathy and cynicism. Event speakers will not be allowed to attack or denigrate other political parties or viewpoint but only to educate others on their party and political beliefs.

This event is a panel discussion sponsored by Walla Walla Diversity Coalition, Whitman College Intercultural Center, and The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin. Dr. Steve Rubin will provide the introduction and Professor David Schmitz, Robert Allen Skotheim Chair of History, will speak briefly on the history of political parties in the United States.
