Geology-Environmental Studies Public Lecture: Earth and ecology in 3-D

Professor Lee Vierling will give a lecture titled "Earth and ecology in 3-D: shedding new light on understanding the environment using lasers" on Oct. 17, where he will discuss the application of laser altimetry (LIDAR) in a wide range of environmental science research.

Vierling is an associate professor in the Department of Forest, Rangeland and Fire Sciences at the University of Idaho. He holds degrees in Geology and Environmental Biology, and works at the interface of ecological research and education through his role as the Executive Director of the UI McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS).
