Rogers Miles as Cushing EellsTuesday, Feb. 18 marks the day Whitman College founder Cushing Eells was born in 1810 and died 83 years later, in 1893. To remember his legacy, a celebration will be held in Reid Campus Center from 12-1 p.m. “Birthday” cake will be served, old issues of the Pioneer will be on display and there will be a slideshow of photos from the 1800s through today. Rogers Miles (pictured right), senior adjunct assistant professor of religion, again will dress as and portray the role of Cushing Eells as he welcomes and greets attendees.
