A career-exploration and cultural visit to New York City annually crowns the Whitman experience for Garrett and Sherwood Scholars. The students, recipients of four-year, renewable scholarships when they enter Whitman, visit financial centers, see a Broadway show, and meet alumni during the all-expense-paid spring break trip. This year's trip also featured a presentation on the real estate market by trip coordinator and Whitman overseer David Valdez, '82, a visit with Terence Noonan, producer of the Rosie O'Donnell Show, and special tours of the MET and the American Museum of Natural History.
