The College has appointed Barbara Noseworthy vice president for development and alumni relations. She brings 13 years of professional development experience to the post, including six years at Whitman, first as director of development and then as associate vice president and director of development programs. Noseworthy was formerly a development consultant to nonprofit organizations in Montana and assistant director for corporation and foundation relations at the University of Washington. She earned her B.S. in psychology at Michigan State University.
As vice president, Noseworthy is responsible for Whitman's fund-raising efforts and the College's alumni relations programs.
"Barbara Noseworthy has been an outstanding development professional for Whitman College over the past several years," said President Cronin, "and she is very well prepared for these new responsibilities."
Noseworthy noted, "I have been so proud to represent Whitman College. This is a college community with a talented and dedicated faculty, committed, sincere students, and a remarkably hard-working staff. Whitman is clearly a college on the move, and I consider it an honor to be asked to work more closely with President Cronin, the governing boards, and the College's generous alumni."
