The Fire Theft

A promethean reconstruction of the Sunny Day Real Estate’s ashes, the Fire Theft recalls Jeremy Enigk as Peter Gabriel dancing around in a flower suit fronting an indie-pop reincarnation of Genesis. Enigk’s emotive alto summons Billy Joel’s declaration and the icy heights of SDRE (think How it Feels to Be Something On combined with “We Didn’t Start the Fire”). Even Nate Mendel from the Foo Fighters deems this project worthy, as he is the bassist. Standouts include "Oceans Apart," "Uncle Mountain," "Carry You," "Summertime," and "It's Over".
