British Sea Power

The Decline of British Sea Power
Rough Trade records.

Perhaps not as fast as NOFX’s The Decline, British Sea Power’s own Decline subverts similar bands the (International) Noise Conspiracy and the Hives by plainly kicking more ass. Simpler rhythms and less pretension allow British Sea Power’s raw and pure organ-driven rock through. It also opens with a serenely cool chorale with deep male voices, juxtaposing the gnashing yet melodic lines that follow through the album. Try 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9.
