Beulah

his entire album makes me long for a coastal hideaway, but not an overly hot one in the South. Yoko seems quieter and restrained, more pensive then your average Beulah, but this newer, more sentimental breed allows for a variation and exploration that The Coast is Never Clear barred.. If you’re a fan of Belle and Sebastian’s pseudo-vintage utility, you’ll love Beulah’s sunshine-coast crossbreed. Less hooky and more advanced structurally, Beulah takes a turn from pure pop to explore a shady cove along the coast.
