• The Library of Congress has added a new page to their excellent collection that will certainly interest those in History. The American Memory Project is a collection of historical pictures, motion pictures, sound recordings, and manuscripts that is well worth exploring.
• Online indexes of historical studies published since 1982 can be found through 'America: History and Life.' This index is also available through the Penrose library homepage.
• History Matters is a web site designed as a gateway to websites useful for US Survey courses (such as Hist 105/106).
• National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
• The Presidential Libraries IDEA Network
• Historiography of Vietnam War compiled by Richard Jensen.
• National Women's History Project provides a gateway to sites related to US women's history.
• Women and Social Movements in the United States, 1830-1930 offers sets of primary source documents related to women's activism.
• The "Ad Access" project at Duke University provides an on-line database of advertisements in several categories (20th century).
• The Making of America project includes on-line searchable text of books and journals published in the period 1850-1877.
• TheAmerican Studies Crossroads Project provides links to resources in American Studies (history and literature).
• 1896 is a site at Vassar College laying out the issues of and offering many political cartoons from the Presidential election.
