Medieval European History Sites
- The
INTERNET MEDIEVAL SOURCEBOOK is a collection of peer-reviewed
primary sources, grouped by topic. There are special subject
collections for women's, Jewish, Islamic, Byzantine, etc. history
which are not confined to the medieval period.
- The
Labyrinth offers a broad array of medieval sources, in
translation, as well as images and other medieval links. This is
the major gateway to accurate medieval sites.
- The Catholic
Encyclopedia is a very good place to go if you need the basic
dirt on any and everything religious or religiously-linked.
- NetSERF
is a slightly more informal collection of sources and information,
but you will find lots of material on material culture and daily
life.
- Medieval
Technology Pages provide an interesting collection of sources
and papers for those people who are interested in material
culture, the development of scientific knowledge, and the
nitty-gritty of how catapults worked or cathedrals were
designed.
- Eurodocs:
Lots of pretty pictures! What do medieval manuscripts really look
like? How were they constructed, and why?
- DScriptorium:
More pretty pictures. This has many of the same links as
Eurodocs.
