DG stands for "Do Good," the motto to which we adhere. We ask each member of our group to complete a set number of service hours each semester. Members can either participate in group-sponsored activities or volunteer for projects of their own choosing. Our national philanthropy is Service For Sight, which helps the visually impaired. To support this organization we rake leaves for donations in the fall and host a campus-fund raising event in the spring, which always features our "Most Beautiful Eyes" contest. We also assist sight-impaired residents in Walla Walla by reading mail and completing other chores for them. In addition to Service for Sight, we volunteer at the local senior citizen's home, transport leftover residence hall food to the local Christian Aid Center, participate in highway clean up and actively support Whitman College's community service days. Members who complete their required community service hours and are active in the chapter are eligible to apply for scholarships to help pay their chapter dues.
