What makes Whitman special to me: Whitman is special to me because of the small town, friendly atmosphere. It really reminds me of a home rather than an institution.

Why I am a Phonathon Caller: I love Whitman and am very lucky to be here on scholarship. Supporting Whitman as a Phonathon Caller for the past three years has been a rewarding and enjoyable way to give back to Whitman while I’m still a student.

Class Year: 2009
Major: History with a Minor in Rhetoric and Film Studies
Activities: Host a radio program on KWCW. President of Associated Students of Whitman College. Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity Member.

What makes Whitman special to me: Like many of us who have chosen Whitman, I chose it because of the feel and atmosphere and the great people who contribute to that atmosphere.

Why I am a Phonathon Caller: Although a Whitman education is among the most expensive, it is worth every cent that students and their families pay and then some. The work I do as a phonathon manager and caller supports the Whitman College Annual Fund, which takes care of the "and then some" mentioned above. Additionally, communicating with Alumni helps us appreciate the true meaning and worth of a Whitman education.
