The history of climate change recorded in the glacial sediment of Ohio bogs

In June and July of 2002 I spent five weeks in southwestern Ohio participating in a Keck Consortium project with professors from the University of Dayton, University of Cincinnati and the College of Wooster. Using sediment cores extracted from topographical depressions we hope to estimate the timing of the last glacial maximum in the Pleistocene. I plan on comparing our findings to other research in the midwest to gain a greater understanding of the relationship between glacial ice sheet retreat and climate change.
