Associate Professor of Philosophy Julia Ireland was invited to present three papers on her current work on Heidegger this spring. The first presentation was a keynote address at the Emory University Graduate Student Conference entitled "Heidegger's 'Hausfreund' and Re-enchantment of the Familiar." The second talk was delivered at Northwestern University as part of their "Phenomenology Workshop," and is entitled "Heidegger and the 'Inner Truth of National Socialism': A Discussion of the 'Schwarze Hefte.'" And the third talk was delivered at DePaul University, and was on the first chapter of her book on Heidegger, Hoelderlin, and politics. That talk was titled "When is Hoelderlin's Poetry?: Reception and Danger," and includes archival material from her last sabbatical. Julia was also invited to serve as associate editor of the Heidegger journal, "Gatherings." She is also very tired.
