Whitman featured in round-up of western U.S. liberal arts colleges “worth the trip”

Whitman was recently included in a list of non-east coast colleges that students from the east coast should consider in their college search. The article, titled College Admissions: 10 Western Colleges Worth the Trip this Summer was posted on the site golocalworcester.com, a local news outlet serving the Worcester, Mass. area.

“Here on the East Coast, students and their families often focus on the plethora of fine colleges in the Northeast,” writes admissions expert Cristiana Quinn. “…And while many know about Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA and USC, few realize that there are some top-notch smaller liberal arts colleges out West.”

In addition to Whitman, the article recommends that families going on cross-country college trips visit Occidental, Reed and Colorado College, among others.
