Time to complete bulk order for transition to new visual identity

If you and/or your office/program/department have already completed your bulk stationery (letterhead, business cards, envelopes, etc. for transition to the new college visual identity), thank you very much! If you have not yet been able to get to it, please contact Amber Woodworth, communications operations manager, at your earliest opportunity. The deadline for completing the bulk order is Tuesday, June 15.

Please complete the online form, print it out and send it by campus mail to Amber in the Boyer House. As indicated on the form, please attach samples of the pieces to be transitioned to the new look. She will work with you to process your order. If you have questions, feel free to call or e-mail her at woodwoar@whitman.edu or x5160.

Cardboard needed for Paper Phoenix project

Cardboard from cereal boxes, note paper backing and other packaging is needed for the Paper Phoenix Project, the recently announced campus stationery recycling/reuse effort. Bring your cardboard contributions to the Boyer House (open during renovation; please use the front entry off Boyer Avenue). Notebooks will be created in two styles – one with cereal boxes as the cover, and an “official line” with a stamp of the new Whitman logo on a plain cardboard cover. The notebooks will be sold in the campus Bookstore; sales will cover production costs as well as generate funds for future campus sustainability efforts.

Also – Watch campus e-mail and The Fountain for details on the “paper round-up” that will take place this summer.

Off to college – who’s going where?

Do you have a son or daughter going off to college for their first year this fall? Or one who is a returning student? Feel free to share your news in The Fountain. Submit your student’s name, college/location and major if known in an e-mail to thefountain@whitman.edu

Parting Shot
By Greg Lehman, photographer/communications officer

Ah, remember when you could actually tell the time by looking at the clock tower? Remember when our days were filled with sun, dark clouds and rain all at the same time… wait, that’s right now. Anyway, time will return to Mem one day and so will balmy summer days.   Full size.
