Accessing Class Folders and Drop Boxes in netFiles

Accessing the Folder

Your instructor will give you a web address or link that will take you to your netFiles class folder or drop box. Once you have the link do the following:

  • Navigate to or click on the link
  • Login using your network user name and password
    • If there is a Launch WFS Web View link, click on it to take you to the familiar netFiles interface

You are now in netFiles. For a class folder, you can upload and download files. For a drop box, you can only upload files.  Note that a dropbox folder will always look empty, even when you have submitted files to it. Look for a confirmation message in a grey bar saying something like, "The document, ____ , was successfully uploaded to folder ____ ."

Bookmark the Folder

To bookmark this folder in netFiles:

  • While in the folder, click the "Add Bookmark" icon next to the left of the Search bar

From this point forward you can access your class folder or drop box by logging into netFiles web and clicking on the bookmark icon to the left of the folder path bar under the netFiles logo.

To bookmark this folder from the web:

  • Right-Click the folder.
  • Select Create RSS feed
  • Click Subscribe Now
  • Choose a place where you can find the bookmark (i.e. bookmark toolbar, bookmark menu, etc.)
  • Click Subscribe
Now you can find this bookmark without logging into netFiles first.  You will probably need to log in to netFiles to use the folder, but this is simply another method of keeping track of class folders.
